Some Avatar doodles I did in one of my more, less explored styles. I really dislike how anime they look, and I personally think they could've made them more ethnically distinct in some way or another. Either way though, amazing show with a lot of spirit.

dude... so, while I want to agree with you, just emphasizing facial features and such doing similar things to anime doesn't really put this stuff into that genre. In my opinion, they have more of a disney flare to some bits, and since many features aren't pinched as much as some styles of anime, it really takes off in that direction. Where I do feel anime taking on is with the outlines... which do seem to have some of the sharpness.
ah, but I haven't watched as much anime or read as much manga as perhaps you have... but hey, that's just another thing that bothers me. When does it start to look like anime is becoming more americanized... I feel that's happening. Just watch some cartoons on TV and see it instantly as you switch between american and anime stuff... scary.
